Jo-Lynne, who as we know, is nobody’s pigeon, is the subject of several of my songs.
On the outskirts of town
She walks beside the highway
The sun is going down
On a hot summer day
Her hair blows in the wind
That chases the passing cars
As they crawl like blacksnakes
Beside the taverns and bars
Chorus:
I don’t care where she’s been
I just want her back again
Jo-Lynne
She’s a lot like the breeze
Feels so good, but hard to keep
Jo-Lynne
When she finally comes home
She’ll be a sight for sore eyes
I won’t ask no questions
And she’ll tell me no lies
She’ll stay here for a spell
I’ll keep trying to hold on
It might work for a while
Then one day she’ll be gone
Bridge:
Part of her belongs to me
Part of her belongs to no one
Part of her wants to be free
Part of her wants to love someone
Chorus:
I don’t care where she’s been
I just want her back again
Jo-Lynne
She’s a lot like the breeze
Feels so good, but hard to keep
Jo-Lynne
